Experience

Secondary Teaching
I have decades of experience as a teacher. I have worked in state schools and independant schools all over Melbourne. In my time, I have specialised in
  • English
  • Literature
  • ESL
  • Politics
  • History
  • Literacy
VCE Examining
I have been a VCE examiner for many years, and have seen lots of wonderful writing as well as almost every possible mistake. This experience has really helped me develop confidence in leading students to better grades.

VCE Revision Lecturer

I have given revision lectures at places ranging from The University of Melbourne to a school hall in Mildura. Those students who have worked consistently often find that some advice aimed at pulling their thoughts together before the exam can be useful.

University Lecturing
I worked in the area of Learning Skills and Study Skills at Melbourne University, then in the area of teacher training at Victoria University and the Australian Catholic University. This gave me a chance to pause and think about teaching and learning. After a few years I returned to the secondary classroom with renewed energy.
